Meet The Elopement Society: Studio Seapink
Studio Seapink adores creating beautiful floral pieces for weddings, events, photoshoots, exhibitions and workshops. Jenny Bell Harman’s work spans wild and exuberant to refined and delicate which we love! Always full of seasonality and with a natural approach, her arrangements have that ‘undone’ vibe which is a big hit for a lot of our couples.
We love working with Jenny, who always pulls unexpected beauty out of the bag. The Elopement Society is dedicated to supporting creative, local businesses that bring truly unique offerings to our couples. We are very lucky to have her.
Tell us about your journey to setting up Studio Seapink in 2019?
I fell in love with flowers while planning my own wedding in 2010 - and one college course, lots of interning, freelancing, jobs as a wedding florist and weddings manager later - I finally set up Studio Seapink as my own creative and sustainable floral studio in the Autumn of 2019.
Describe your floral style?
My work is full of locally grown flowers so is inherently seasonal and natural, embracing the individuality of each bloom and celebrating their beauty. So - seasonal, natural and bountiful, but considered too.
Does your experience in Fine Art and Biology influence your florals?
I guess we bring all of our past experiences and learning to our current occupations and I have a real mix bag to draw on for inspiration! Perhaps it’s very natural that as a creative I’d be drawn to work with flowers in a sustainable way as I’ve always been inspired and fascinated by nature and I find the beauty and ephemerality of flowers so magical.
Can you tell us about a typical day in the life of Studio Seapink?
I often walk to the beach in the morning, I love living on the coast and seeing the constant changes in the sky and sea. Then coffee! Depending on what I have in the diary that week (and the time of year!) I then might be video chatting to a couple or client, working on proposals and mood boards, ordering flowers, creating designs, doing some photography, working on a shoot, planning a workshop, posting on socials, catching up on emails or spending time in my cutting garden where I always have a to-do list. Or setting up a wedding of course!
You’re based out at East Lothian and have always create the most artful combinations for our couples. Is there a difference between creating for traditional weddings as opposed to elopers?
For elopers, the personal flowers such as the bouquets and buttonholes are often the only florals required so those pieces have a lot to say! I really try to capture the whole vibe of the couple in just those designs, which is a challenge and a real joy. These weddings are often quite laid back too, so often the floral briefs have a lot of freedom for creativity which I love.

What’s the best thing about your job?
What can I say - I am obsessed with locally grown flowers. I feel so lucky that I get to work with such beauty. It’s a constant inspiration and the joy my work bring to others is really special. That connection with people and flowers - it’s the absolute best thing.
And the toughest?
Very early mornings for wedding set ups are not the most fun, let’s be honest!
We’ve had a few fun ‘extra-curricular’ shoots together! What do these days consist of and why do you do them? (I love them btw!)
These shoots are always so much fun, I love them too! For me, it’s a chance to explore different aesthetics, to play, to take time to really consider a set up or a design. I adore styling and creating this way and of course the photography always transforms these ideas into something special. I often have a selection of materials to hand - different vessels and props such as candles, linens, collected objects as well as flowers and any interesting botanicals that have caught my eye. I find it’s great to have lots in the ‘toolbox’ to create set ups with. Collaborating with other creatives is something I love to do whenever I can.
What should elopers think about when exploring floral options for their big wee days?
The best results always come from embracing what’s truly seasonal in my opinion - your florist will advise on what flowers will be available. Keeping an open mind about colour is helpful too. Other than that just describe how you’d like your florals to make you feel and what role you’d like them to play in your day.
