My work blends authentic, human storytelling and feeling-led visual direction with the alchemy of analogue photography.

At Solen Collet, brand photography is approached through editorial narratives, collaborative art direction and atmospheric composition. The focus is on creating emotionally resonant imagery rather than traditional corporate photography.

My studio practice is shaped by editorial storytelling, my love of 35mm and medium film photography and playful still life compositions. My process weaves material ritual, visual symbolism with a little modern mysticism and atmospheric observation. Photography, for me, is an intentional practice of visual world-building, often searching out the magic in the simple and the everyday.

In my artworks I love to explore how light, environments and objects carry emotional and symbolic weight, where composition, texture and natural elements conspire to create a subtle sense of narrative and visual presence. In other words, connections - to self, to each other, to nature and to the moment.

I’m increasingly drawn to mixing alternative photographic processes to collage together works that combine photography with mixed media, installation, video or written word, letting ideas cast spells across paper, screens or canvas.

Combining my art studio work with brand photographer storytelling and portraiture allows me to fully embrace my lifelong love of grassroots culture across all art forms with the work all informing each other.

Selected Weddings & Elopements

A small number of weddings and elopements are accepted each year for my lovely design-conscious, local brand loving, often camera-shy couples and romantic renegades.

These commissions are approached with the same editorial and analogue-led philosophy as all my studio work. I shoot in an unobtrusive way, with over 13 years of experience under my belt.

Let’s be honest — being in front of a camera can feel cringe.
Awkward. Unnatural. Like you suddenly don’t know what to do with your hands or your face.

If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone. A huge number of my clients tell me they feel uncomfortable being photographed — whether it’s for their wedding, an elopement, or a branding session. The good news is this: feeling awkward at first doesn’t mean your photos won’t be beautiful.

In fact, some of my favourite images happen when we push past the cringe and lean into the moment.
