I’m Solen, a female Edinburgh brand & micro wedding photographer with over 12 years of full-time experience, specialising in documentary wedding photography, intimate weddings and elopements across Scotland, alongside editorial portraiture and creative brand photography.

I work with camera-shy couples, artists, independent businesses and culturally engaged clients who value authenticity, local connection and thoughtful visual storytelling.

My work combines 35mm film and digital photography to create natural, atmospheric imagery that feels honest, emotive and timeless.

I’m also a visual artist working from my Leith studio, and that creative crossover shapes everything I photograph. I’m a life-long champion of grassroots arts and value the authentic and playful.

Whether documenting a celebration or building visual identity for a creative business, my focus is the same: connection, supporting grassroots arts and authenticity.

Alongside weddings and elopements, I work with independent brands and artists who share similar values : slow production, cultural connection and intentional, joyful storytelling.

If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone. A huge number of my clients tell me they feel uncomfortable being photographed — whether it’s for their wedding, an elopement, or a branding session. The good news is this: feeling awkward at first doesn’t mean your photos won’t be beautiful.
