Wedding : 10/10 joy at Comrie Croft

So this is the only wedding in a decade where I’ve kissed the minister during the ceremony… He asked. Kinda.

Anyways, Geoff and Neil married on a mad hot day in July in the courtyard at Comrie. Comrie is an eco campsite, barn, farm shop, bunkhouse, bike trail and who knows what else but probably loads of other stuff too. And this time I didn’t see anyone from Portobello which is wild cos I feel like if they’re not home that’s where they’ve all gone. Me and the wee guy had a one night holiday there last year with some neighbours so I can’t talk. Well, we stayed in a lovely room in the bunkhouse and packed crisps while everyone else cooked and camped in the rain cos fuck that. I’ve gone on a tangent though.

Just to say that the bunkhouse was renovated during lockdown and it’s got loads of furnishings made by local carpenters with sustainably sourced materials and it’s a good kip, comfy scratcher. Wedding couples can hire bits of the accommodation along with the barn too. And it’s never rained when I’ve been there for work I should add.

Instead of doing some getting ready photos our lovely couple had a welcome cocktail with their immediate family and everyone got some buttonhole flowers to wear for the ceremony, including the dog. There were singing waiting staff later on. Chef sneaked us some extra pudding. And if you are after a daft laugh I can recommend Afterglow as your video guy. Jason is a bad influence and will have everyone up dancing.

Geoff and Neil were a total treat to work with. I made them snog each other down some lanes in Leith while a couple of kids got high in a doorway but they didn’t mind. Anyways, thank you and over to them for what they made of their special day.

Congratulations! How was the day for you both?

We had the most amazing day filled with love and shared with our closest people. The day was all we hoped for and more!

Solen was so easy to work with. She really put us at ease so we didn’t feel awkward and was able to capture so many candid moments. Solen’s fun, supportive and kind approach meant she fitted in seamlessly with our guests and also worked alongside our videographer brilliantly (despite them having never met before!) this again, helped to create a relaxed and friendly environment.

Our Favourite Shots

Among our favourites are some of the confetti shots, the couple shots in the field, the shot of our first dance and some lovely pics of my mum and dad.
