Wedding : Hannah & Daniel, Coulston House

Colstoun weddings are always a real treat. I shoot there fairly often but no two days have ever been similar, the team are always working on the walled garden and different spaces within the house and around the grounds. I’ve shot there in every season of the year and it’s just a beautiful space with a really good vibe around it, lots of scope for play and adventures.

I met up with these legends, Hannah and Dan, for a pre-wedding jaunt around North Berwick, totally unnecessary as they’ve clearly had extensive modelling experience on the sly but it was nice to make pals.

Our wedding day was truly perfect. Hilariously perfect actually. It all fell into place. And so thank you for being a part of it.

You were the best Solen. Thank you. We couldn’t have hoped for anyone better. I saw you even were persuaded into dancing with my Grandad!

We’ll be in touch about putting an album together, photo album, not music album. We can’t sing.
— Hannah & Dan

They’re wedding day at Colstoun was one of the most idyllic days - just glorious sunny weather, everyone on ace form, everything running smoothly and feeling quite dreamy. It was emotional and joyful and just lovely to be a part of.

AND I got to dance with twinkle-eyed grandad so winning all round.

I’d also recommend their videographer, Michael, who’s a lovely fella and very easy to work with for couples who are a bit camera shy and overwhelmed at the thought of being the centre of attention. He works in a pretty candid way, not too much direction and his films are stunning.

And Gary, their caterer and his team, looked after us very well in the heat.

They chose to have their ceremony out on the lawn behind the house, over a little bridge and under the trees. The drinks ceremony was out in the walled garden. It was a scorcher of a day so nobody was in the polytunnel and they had to be fast cutting their cake as it started to melt! Not that common in Scotland so we took it with a healthy dose of gratitude.

Dinner, speeches and dancing where all in the stable, with a little post dinner coffee outside in the courtyard by the firepit.
