East Lothian Cabin Elopements
It’s the best time of year for folks toying with the idea of an illicit little private elopement day to contact us about our East Coast ideas.
Our friends at the cabin have opened their diary for 2024 and summer always reaches a sell out so don’t be shy, give us a holler if it’s something that might work for you.
We’ve helped couples design elopements and tiny weddings with immediate family or a small group of their nearest and dearest. We’ve had outdoor ceremonies on several of East Lothian’s beautiful beaches, in a couple of woodlands, at a private clifftop and nearby harbours. There are also loads of great local spaces to use if you’d prefer not to brave the Scottish weather (although East Lothian has a micro-climate which usually makes it one of the warmest and driest spots in Scotland).
The cabin is a great base even for tiny weddings if you’d like to have some private accommodation near but not too near to your guests! There’s plenty of hotels, apartments, town houses, cabins and camping across East Lothian and all within a short car or cab journey from the cabin, which is 5 minute walk from Seacliff Beach.
Near to the cabin are several towns and country estates with great restaurants, outdoor sports, spas for more relaxing times, and many independent book stores, record and coffee shops, little art galleries and museums and coverted chapels along with bars and cafes with outdoor areas and amazing views so your choice of spaces to use on your celebration day is great and can be tailored to tell your story, even if you have never visited this part of the world before.
The cabin itself sleeps 2, all amenties provided are sourced from local small businesses with a strong eco focus. There’s a garden with loungers and a fire pit/bbq, fully equipped tiny kitchen area and a wood burner, making it a perfect spot to spend a couple of quiet days alone together. We can also arrange for wine, cake, wedding flowers, seafood platters and/or amazing sushi, bridal hairdressing and all sorts to be delivered to you there from the best local independent female led businesses.
The cabin can be reached either by car (with space by the woods to park) or via train, bus or cab. It’s only around a 5 minute drive to the nearest town.
