2019 Thank Yous
Thank you so so much to everyone who got in touch after my last blog post to share their stories and support. It means a great deal to me. One of the most amazing parts of doing this for a living is that you slowly train yourself to become emotionally immersed and fully present in the day and it’s an incredibly personal day to share so thank you to all the couples who have trusted us with recording these special moments for them.
We shot less weddings this year than in the past for lots of reasons that previous blog readers will know but it turned out to be a great thing. The above slideshow is a few of my favourite images from this year’s weddings.
We danced in the rain, we rode on a riverboat in Oxford, we watched Marcus’s mum officiate his marriage, we heard about that time late one night, out of nowhere, Shan handed Ross a paint gun and told him to run! We met and worked with some really really amazing humans. You all give me faith and to hear the stories of how you got there always fascinates me. So thank you. And keep in touch!
I’m in the early stages of a very exciting new venture which I will share with you very soon.
Also, those glorious beasts at the Wedding Collective say to keep Sunday 16th free as there are plans for an Edinburgh market… more info soon I’m sure.
Engaged Folks
I have a handful of dates for 2020 still free and the diary for 2021 is open so get in touch and let’s chat over your plans.
I have a heap of things I’ve promised to talk about, from sustainable wedding ideas and body positivity to inclusivity and ways I and other independent supplier pals deal with stresses of planning which I know I keep saying I’ll post but I will, I will! I’ve got a pile of stuff drafted for you, I’ve just been taking a wee healthy step back from social media for work for a while. I’ve got myself a handsome planner for next year and will bring you all of these helpful bits very soon.
In the meantime, please join the mailing list if you haven’t already as that’ll give me the kick in the ass I need to mail out some festive period print offers (a bit last minute, I know, I know!) and to remind everyone that there are fine art paper seascape prints available with all profits going to Tiny Changes. I’m also planning on a wee discount offer for family sessions (and gift vouchers for family shoots) but I’m a master procrastinator so join the list and guilt me into it, please and thanks.
I’d wish you all a happy festive period but that sometimes winds me up as I know it’s actually more like an endurance for many. If you struggle in the winter for whatever reason, talk about it, you are never a burden and you are worth the hugs you need. I hope Santa brings you what you really need in abundance.
Much love xxx
